Always busy, really busy

For once, my weekend wasn’t planed and booked to the extreme. Therefore, Niklas and I decided to have a calm weekend to ourselves. Therefore, we ended up having anything but a calm weekend.

This Saturday we took the bus to my old hoods in Nacka strand and David LaChapelle’s exhibition at Fotografiska museet. David LaChapelle is one, if not the, best photographers of our time. He’s responsible for some of my favorite portraits (just look at this and this) and lots of them were featured at the exhibition as well as some of his most recent pieces, all on the subject death and the end of the world. While this darker theme made up a part of the exhibition, some of the photos dated back to his earlier works in 1995. Let’s put it this way: it’s definitely worth a visit!

After strolling around watching God knows how many pictures for God knows how long we decided to spend some time looking at clothes instead. We spent a few hours shopping. We found some nice clothes, perfume, books and coffee. Happiness.

At the end of this perfect day, we went to Sture to see I’m not there. You should too, if you appreciate Bob Dylan and/or great movies.

Sunday, yesterday that is, we went to see Einstürzende Neubauten at Berns. Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay for long. Niklas wasn’t feeling too well and I was close to collapse due to the lack of oxygen (you’d think that a place like Berns would have some sort of AC, a fan or a door to leave open but obviously not). We stayed for three songs or so, then we had to give in and give up. Yes, we left one of our favorite bands behind. I feel extremely guilty and have a hard time forgiving myself, but that’s life.

All in all, the weekend was fabulous. Not very calm or quiet but exactly what I needed.
